Yes, we may be able to help you get your car unlocked. Call NWPD Dispatch at 609-522-2411. You should especially call the Department if there is an emergency, such as a young child or pet inside the locked car. Depending on the type of car and door locks, we have the tools and knowledge to unlock the car without causing any damage. This is especially true if the car is equipped with standard door locks. If the car has more advanced locks, such as those that require a keyless entry system, they may be too complicated for police to open without the right tools and you may have to contact a locksmith. You will be required to sign a form releasing the City of North Wildwood of liability for any/all damage done to your vehicle in the attempt to assist you to unlock the doors.

Yes. You may report crimes and offenses for a police response over the telephone, but you cannot complete a police report using the telephone. In most cases, when you contact the North Wildwood Police Department by telephone you are being connected to our 911 Communications Operators that are trained to interview callers for pertinent information in emergencies, triage police, fire, and medical situations and dispatch the appropriate responders. But these operators are not law enforcement officers, so while they can make an entry into our CAD - Computer Aided Dispatch system, they cannot take a report. |
Each siren length and pattern has a different use. Go to our EMERGENCY ALERT & STORM SAFETY page for more infomation and storm preparation information. |
